Childhood games

For today's p.e session we played some games that were very famous back in primary and intermediate. The games we played were four square, leapfrog, hopscotch, skipping and octopus. My favourite activity we played was handball, that was the famous game of all. The best thing about handball is the " dragon" the dragon is like a very difficult move because you have to hold the ball quickly. Today was the first time i played leap frog even though i had opportunities to play it in primary.

I place myself at Achieved, because I made it to the king square in handball by using my full ability and skills.

3 factors
Previous experiences, Fun/enjoyment & sense of achievement

Previous experiences made a positive effect on my participation because some of the activities we did i knew the role of them and i knew what i what doing. Previous experiences made a good affect on my participation.

Fun/enjoyment made a positive effect on my participation because my friends made it fun and enjoyable through out all activities, also in the handball i thought i doubled in my square but i didn't then i made it to king. This made my participation more lit

Sense of achievement made a positive effect on my participation because i wanted to make it to king 4 times and i achieved to make it. This make a good affect towards my participation.

something I can do in the future is to practice more skills in handball.

Volley ball

For today's activity we played volleyball. Volleyball is a game that's mostly played on a beach, also is a team sport in which two teams of 6 players are separated by the net. There has to be 3 players in the front and 3 players at the back, also a Maximum of 3 hits per side. A player can not hit the ball twice otherwise its a hand over to the other side. Today wasn't that great as there was some players that were not hitting the ball but just standing there and not pushing themselves to at least touch the ball. I really enjoyed setting the ball to my friends and spiking the ball. There was alot of laughter as the ball got hit directly to the other side a lot.

I place myself as Achieved because I think i played well enough to my full potential and showed my best skills throughout the game.

Wellbeing, skill level & sense of achievement
Wellbeing had a positive affect on my participation because my teammates had a good vibe going on passing the ball to each other and keeping the ball up in the air. My team mates vibing made a good affect making me wellbeing.

Skill level had a positive effect on my participation because i presented my skills well, for example if one of my team mates hit the ball straight up instead to the other side i'd be able to pop the ball up towards my team mate closest to the net and set a good spike. My participation was lit because i had great skills.

Sense of achievement  had a very positive effect on my participation because i thought i wouldn't be able to serve the  ball to the other side 5 times but i did which made me feel successful. Sense of achievement made my participation a lot better  because I achieved something i thought i couldn't do.

Something i can do in the future is to become a better server and practice ways to make a good set.

Ultimate Frisbee

Today I participated in Ultimate Frisbee with my p.e class. Unfortunately we played this game outside due to many people that had assignments in the Rec. Ultimate Frisbee is similar to turbo touch but played with a Frisbee instead of a rugby ball. Ultimate Frisbee could be played on any kind of ground but best played on a smooth ground. Ultimate Frisbee is easy to play with a lot of friends as it could get messy if your playing outside and the weather is shifty . Before every game one of your team members will throw the Frisbee up. If you drop the Frisbee it´ll be the other sides Frisbee. You cannot run with the Frisbee if you catch it or it is passed towards you. Anyone is responsible to make their own calls on where the Frisbee goes or if they want the Frisbee.

I put myself as a Achieved, I think that because I participated well in the windy weather, I played well with my full ability due to the game rules.I think I met the criteria due to a lot.

three factors
Fun/enjoyment, sense of achievement & friends/classmates

Fun and enjoyment had a positive affect in m participation as i was enjoying the long passes to Ivan and fluking it. Sense of achievement made me push myself to play harder for me to participate and get the frisbee alot. My friends were all participating very well and i was happy that we were all on fleek with our running and passing

something in the future i can do is practice to do trick shots with frisbees.

Fitness suite circuit

Today's activity we were placed in the gym. This was the first time as a class we did something physical with most of the equipment that was in the gym. There were 8 stations and our focus was to do the most we can in 45 seconds per station. There are 3 round and the first two rounds are 45 second each station and the last round is 20 seconds. James and i started off with the cycling machine and started with a steady paste so we can save our energy for the other rounds. We did a variety of circuits within 1 hour. The challenging station of the day was Lunge jumps.

I place myself as a merit because I moved myself to contribute in all stations and Manage to things that was

Three factors
Friends/classmates, challenging & Fitness

Friends/classmates,
Friends and classmates had a positive affect on my participation because i was glad to see my friends not moan about doing fitness in the gym. I was happy to see that everyone gave it their best in all 3 rounds.

Challenging,
Challenging had a positive affect on my participation because I made the most of my time at each station using most of my energy to cope well with the class and keep well.

Fitness,
Fitness had a positive affect on my participation because i managed to go through each and individual station in a big body.

Something i can do in the future is to get more fit and better.

Turbo touch

Todays activity we played turbo touch. Turbo touch is a exactly like normal touch but played differently by passing the ball in any direction. The rules were 3 passes 2 minimum, No standing in the goal before putting the ball down and 5 on each side. I was placed in the blue team and the round i was subbing with Charlie.  My team did really well with passing and catching. I really liked the way James used his skills alot with every round we did. This activity was well played with yr 9's. This yr 9's were splitted into  teams with us. I think i did really well with catching and it was sad to to that the referee didn't see Charlie step in the square when he scored a goal and the referee said it wasn't a try. It was a good game with the yr 9's.

I place myself as Achieved, Because I could catch the ball accurately and pass the ball in any direction. I used all my skills and ability to play well in this game.

Three factors
Classmate/friends, skill level & previous experiences

Classmate/friends,
My classmates and friends had positive affect on my participation as i didn't have to worry about dropping the ball because my friends will always back me up during the participation

Skill level,
My skill level had a positive affect on my participation because i had really good catching and passing.

Previous experiences,
Previous experiences had a positive affect on my participation as i know how the game goes and what the penalties are.

Something in the future i can do is to be a great leader to my friends.

Energy systems

The most complex energy system in the body is the aerobic which provides the body ATP( adenosine tri - phosphate). The aerobic system supplies the body with lots of energy to make the movement last longer than 2 minutes.

There are three parts to energy system and they are ATP-PC , Anaerobic, Aerobic .

Energy systems
 Time
Examples in a sport
ATP - PC
0 - 12 (secs)
Catching, dribbling, shooting
Anaerobic
12 - 2 (mins)
Doing a layup, running with the ball
Aerobic
2 + (mins)
The whole game

Table Tennis ( Ping Pong)

Today's activity we played Table tennis. The first thing we had to do as a class was to put together a new table so it'll be easier for the class to have turns. Table tennis is also known as pingpong. Rules , you can play as singles or doubles. I paired up with Kori-Lee and practiced with him on a normal table before our turn was up. It was a bit unfair as Kori and I had the old recent bats and the pair that we versed which was Jayden & Autymn who had fresh brand new bats. This was the first time I played Table Tennis with the class and mates. Kori and i werent professional as we thought but at least we had fun. We lost all our matches to the skills we never had. The only thing i was good at was serving.

I place myself as Achieved because i didn't play well as i thought and it was hard to focus on the ball as our bats weren't brand new like the others.

Three factors
Fun/ Enjoyment, Friends and classmates & skill level

Fun/enjoyment,
Fun and enjoyment had a positive affect on my participation as i was getting to know how to play the game properly and serving the ball normally. My friends were having fun and laughter when someone makes a mistake.

Friends/classmates,
Friends had a positive affect on my participation because as a whole class everyone came in and helped out to set up the new ping pong table.

Skill level had a negative affect on my participation because i didn't have the techniques to hit the ball much accurate when it came to me but my serving was the only skill i had.

One thing in the future for me it to get all the techniques i know and show them.

Zumba

For today's activity our p.e class did Zumba. We started by watching a little bit of videos from youtube and following the steps that they do. It was like dancing and fitness at the same time. This was the first time i've tried this, it was fun. I could tell some of the boys were kinda embarrassed to stand up and participate with the others because the moves were too girly even though the boys in the video were doing them. It was tiring and hot because we did this in a massive room and we were all spread out.

I place myself at a Achieved , because I put alot of effort for me to contribute with the boys and follow the moves that were suitable from the video on the screen .

three factors
Friends/Classmates, Fun/Enjoyment & Sense of achievement

Friends/Classmates were getting into it when i saw them get up i felt like dancing along and showing some respect to the teacher that i'm participating

Fun/Enjoyment sometimes wasn't good because when Miss played a different video the moves were not as cool as we thought they were.

Sense of achievement was what i was doing because if i didn't participate i wouldnt get an achieved or merit.

Something in the future i can do is to get more exclusive with dancing and show up my friends my fantastic moves

Projectile Motion

Projectile motion is an object which is thrown upwards at a angle to the horizontal. A projectile is an object upon which the only force acting is gravity. The 3 parts of parts of projectile Angle, height and speed. For todays activity we were playing around with  paper and rubber bands. Everyone got a band and piece of paper each were testing out how far they can flick a little bit of paper by using the band. It was fun and messy

Wednesday 26 July 2017

Levers

For today we did an activity about Levers. Like what are the parts of a lever and the classes of a lever. What are the 3 parts of a lever? Pivot,Resistance and force.

You know it's a 1st class lever when when the fulcrum is in the middle of the effort and the load and the force is applied on either side

You know it's a 2nd class lever when the load is in the middle of the effort and the fulcrum at the end.

You know it's a 3rd class lever when the fulcrum and the load is on either side on the effort.

Sepak Takraw

For today´s activity we played an unusual game called Sepak Takraw which is like volley ball but in this game we cannot use our hands we can only use our knee, chest and head to hit the ball. This game is mostly played in Malaysia. We had to get into pairs of 3 to play this game. This was the first time i have experienced this game and after all it takes a while to get use to it.

I place myself as Achieved, because i think i did really well with my skills and movement. I think i did really well with hitting the ball accurate with my head

3 factors that influenced me were fun/enjoyment, competition,  skill level
My friends in my team were having fun with keeping the ball in the air. I was surprised to see how James can serve the ball like a pro to the other team with some interesting moves. Watching my friends have fun affected me to play more, for example James and Paris would kick the ball to each other and start vibing .

This game was like a competition to me as this was the first time i have ever played Sepak Takraw but i managed to step up to the game and play well with how the game is played. The techniques in this was pretty hard like kicking the ball accurate and trying to kick the ball to my team mate. I really think this game could be played well if we could practice our kicking. My energy level affected me to play more, for example when the ball would come to me i'll be ready to hit it.

My skill level was on fleek. My kicking wasn't accurate enough until we started versing the other teams. My serving was lit, I really enjoyed serving to the other side. I had a lot of energy at the time. My skill level encouraged me to play at my full potential.

Something i can do in the future is just play the game that is given and enjoy.

200 challenge

For today's activity we contributed a fitness game with the yr 9's. To begin we played a game of tag to warm up. It was fun and challenging as there were lots of sneaky people tagging me from the back. After that we had to get into groups of 3 and mix up with the yr 9's. Unfortunately there wasn't enough yr 9's so i partnered up with James. James started the first 20 squats and then we took turns. Believe it or not we managed to do 200 together then we both did 20 sit ups each. Then we finished of by doing 20 laps. James and I took turns each. Finally we finished and had a massive rest.

I place my self as Achieved, because I can not believe how well i managed with my squats . Also because how i managed to still do sit ups in the low condition of energy i had left and my thighs were suffering with pain.

3 factors
Fitness,Challenge,Friends/classmates

This factor affected me because I'm not really a fit person to do 200 squats and sit ups with condition of my body. Believe it or not i got tired by doing 10 squats and i was very exhausted and my thighs were distress. Fitness is something i haven't really done fora while. This activity was very challenging to me as there was a lot of fitness involved and i had a dry throat half way through the sit ups. When i herd that we were doing fitness i knew that i was going to struggle but James influenced me to play.

In the future something i can do to increase my fitness and do a lot more exercise and have fun.

3 laws of motion

  • Who is Sir Isaac Newton?
Sir Isaac Newton was a physicists and mathematician who was born in December 25th 1642. Sir Isaac Newton worked in many areas in mathematics and physics. In 1686 he presented his 3 laws in the ¨ Principia Mathematica Philosophiae Naturalis ".

  • Explain the 3 Laws
The 3 laws discovered by Sir Isaac Newton are,Inertia , force and equal & opposite. The first law instates that an object at rest will remain at rest unless acted by an unbalanced force. The second law force is when a object with mass can change its velocity ( which includes to be moving from a state at rest ). The third law equal and opposite, for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. For example if i was to bounce on a trampoline the action is when i jump on to the trampoline and the opposite reaction is me bouncing up .

  • How did the game ‘inertia ball’ demonstrate Newton’s Laws?
Inertia ball is a game that explains all 3 newtons laws. The aim of the game is to throw a ball with the most mass at the big ball in the middle. The first law inertia was demonstrated when the big ball didn't move until you hit it. The second law was demonstrated by throwing the ball with the biggest mass at the big ball to make it move. The third law was demonstrated by throwing the ball at the big ball which is the action and the reaction is when the ball rebounds of the big ball.

Muscles

What are the three types of muscles?
The three types of muscles are cardiac, smooth and skeletal. The skeletal muscle is a type of striated muscle, attached to the skeleton. Cardiac muscle contracts, it pumps blood into the heart and through the blood vessels of the circulatory system. The smooth muscle forms organs like the stomach, bladder, veins
Describe what agonist and antagonist muscles are?
Antagonist and agonist muscles is when one muscle contracts, the other relaxes. For example elbow extension, if i was stretching out my arm my triceps are contracted and my Biceps are relaxing.
What are some movements in the body and examples of the movement in a sport?
For example if i was playing softball  my movement is elbow abduction. When the ball is pitched the persons arm is stretching out the bat which the triceps are contracted and the biceps are relaxing until the person pulls back his arm its addiction.

Choose one activity we have completed in class and describe what your task was.
One activity we did was to get into groups of 3 and write all the muscles and bones. One person had to stand up on the other side and we had to put the labels on that persons body. Mrs Doughty called a muscle/Bone and we had to put exactly where the bone/muscle is. The activity was very useful and fun.

Bench Ball

For p.e we played bench ball. Bench ball is a game that's similar to dodge ball and capture the flag. To play we can have a even amount of people on each side. What we had to do was one of the members in our team can run to the other side and stand on the bench, That gives us the opportunity to throw the ball to our team mate on the other side to catch then we can try to run to the bench without getting touched. To win the game you have to have 4 on a bench. Rules ,3 seconds in your circle near the bench. if you get tagged you have to run back.

I Place my self as a achieved, because i managed to participate at my full potential and get my self on the bench with out getting touched. I think i met the criteria because i played well and how the game is made to play. Another example , I think i met the criteria because i managed to get my team some points and because i had the ability to throw the ball perfect.

+ Skill level,
My skills and ability was average to the game for example, i managed to have good aiming at throwing the ball to my team mate on the other side. I really enjoyed running around and not getting lazy

+ Equipment,
The equipment for example the balls were big and easy to catch and throw in the air which helped me a lot. The equipment was set out perfect which made the game easier to participate.

+Friends and classmates.

My friends were enjoying there time trying to run to the bench and getting the others out which made me be more helpful to play and have fun . My team mates Came up with some good strategies to get to the other side and also it was challenging how there wasn't the same amount of people. My friends influenced me to be more out there and play
Friends and classmates like Ivan made me play through out the whole game which increased my participation. With out Ivan i wouldn't be playing at my full potential.

Something i can do in the future is to get more fit and cope well even though i don't understand the game i will play and have fun.

Skeletal system

What are the roles of the skeletal system?
  • Support
  • Movement
  • Protection
  • Blood Cell Production
  • Calcium Storage

What are the types of bones?
  • Long bone
  • Short bone
  • Flat bone
What is something interesting you have learnt about the bones?

  • There are 26 bones in the human foot.

Futsal

Today i played Futsal for the first time. Futsal  is played on an indoor court with boundaries while Indoor soccer is played on a turf field with walls. Our rules were there was no outs, 5 people aside, No handball. This game was exciting cause everyone played along and gave it a shot.

I put my self as achieved, I think i meet the criteria because i think i played well behaved and used my skills to my full potential.

What influenced me? +Friends/classmates, Because it was easy to play with the good amount of players. This made a good affect on my participation. What influenced me? + Well being, I pushed myself to play well and throughout the game i got used to it and made and effort to kick the ball a lot and pass to many mates in my team. This made a good affect on my participation. What influenced me ? + fun/enjoyment because all my friends were playing along getting used to how the game goes and this made my participation much better.

Something i can do in the future is to practice my kicking skills.

Chop sticks

Today I played modified hockey. Modified Hockey is mixed with capture the flag but we play with the hockey bats. The main goal for the game was to run to the other side with a mate without getting touched and stealing there goalies and bring back to our side with out getting touched. Each side had 2 corners with two hockey pucks surrounded by four cones. The game was very challenging as it was the first time i played it.

I place myself as Achieved, The beginning of the game i managed to demonstrate skills related to the game. The game was a bit difficult at first then i started to blend in with the others and play well.

three factors,
friends/classmates, Skill level & fun/ enjoyment.
my friends had a positive affect on my participation because everyone was playing even though they have never played this sport before they'll still play and learn. Skill level made a positive affect in my participation as i had accurate passing with the bat. Fun & enjoyment made a positive affect on my participation because i was just mucking around with defense and made sure the puck doesn't come through.

Something in the future i can do is be a good leader and show how respectful my friends i actually am.
