200 challenge

For today's activity we contributed a fitness game with the yr 9's. To begin we played a game of tag to warm up. It was fun and challenging as there were lots of sneaky people tagging me from the back. After that we had to get into groups of 3 and mix up with the yr 9's. Unfortunately there wasn't enough yr 9's so i partnered up with James. James started the first 20 squats and then we took turns. Believe it or not we managed to do 200 together then we both did 20 sit ups each. Then we finished of by doing 20 laps. James and I took turns each. Finally we finished and had a massive rest.

I place my self as Achieved, because I can not believe how well i managed with my squats . Also because how i managed to still do sit ups in the low condition of energy i had left and my thighs were suffering with pain.

3 factors
Fitness,Challenge,Friends/classmates

This factor affected me because I'm not really a fit person to do 200 squats and sit ups with condition of my body. Believe it or not i got tired by doing 10 squats and i was very exhausted and my thighs were distress. Fitness is something i haven't really done fora while. This activity was very challenging to me as there was a lot of fitness involved and i had a dry throat half way through the sit ups. When i herd that we were doing fitness i knew that i was going to struggle but James influenced me to play.

In the future something i can do to increase my fitness and do a lot more exercise and have fun.

3 laws of motion

  • Who is Sir Isaac Newton?
Sir Isaac Newton was a physicists and mathematician who was born in December 25th 1642. Sir Isaac Newton worked in many areas in mathematics and physics. In 1686 he presented his 3 laws in the ¨ Principia Mathematica Philosophiae Naturalis ".

  • Explain the 3 Laws
The 3 laws discovered by Sir Isaac Newton are,Inertia , force and equal & opposite. The first law instates that an object at rest will remain at rest unless acted by an unbalanced force. The second law force is when a object with mass can change its velocity ( which includes to be moving from a state at rest ). The third law equal and opposite, for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. For example if i was to bounce on a trampoline the action is when i jump on to the trampoline and the opposite reaction is me bouncing up .

  • How did the game ‘inertia ball’ demonstrate Newton’s Laws?
Inertia ball is a game that explains all 3 newtons laws. The aim of the game is to throw a ball with the most mass at the big ball in the middle. The first law inertia was demonstrated when the big ball didn't move until you hit it. The second law was demonstrated by throwing the ball with the biggest mass at the big ball to make it move. The third law was demonstrated by throwing the ball at the big ball which is the action and the reaction is when the ball rebounds of the big ball.

Muscles

What are the three types of muscles?
The three types of muscles are cardiac, smooth and skeletal. The skeletal muscle is a type of striated muscle, attached to the skeleton. Cardiac muscle contracts, it pumps blood into the heart and through the blood vessels of the circulatory system. The smooth muscle forms organs like the stomach, bladder, veins
Describe what agonist and antagonist muscles are?
Antagonist and agonist muscles is when one muscle contracts, the other relaxes. For example elbow extension, if i was stretching out my arm my triceps are contracted and my Biceps are relaxing.
What are some movements in the body and examples of the movement in a sport?
For example if i was playing softball  my movement is elbow abduction. When the ball is pitched the persons arm is stretching out the bat which the triceps are contracted and the biceps are relaxing until the person pulls back his arm its addiction.

Choose one activity we have completed in class and describe what your task was.
One activity we did was to get into groups of 3 and write all the muscles and bones. One person had to stand up on the other side and we had to put the labels on that persons body. Mrs Doughty called a muscle/Bone and we had to put exactly where the bone/muscle is. The activity was very useful and fun.
